Performing Experience

With San Francisco Opera: Alcina (Handel), Calisto (Cavalli), L'Ormindo (Cavalli); Orlando Furioso (Vivaldi) and l'incoronation di Poppea (Monteverdi) on theorbo; Rigoletto (Verdi) and Don Giovanni (Mozart) on mandolin; Don Pasquale (Donizetti) and King Priam (Tippet) on guitar.

With San Francisco Symphony: Symphony No. 7 (Mahler), Romeo and Juliet (Prokofiev) (recorded on RCA Victor Red Seal; Grammy Award winner); The Lord of the Rings Symphony, Gnarly Buttons (John Adams), Sonatina for Mandolin and Piano (Beethoven) with Anton Nel, many other performances since 1981 including Wet Ink series, Pops Series and New and Unusual Music series.

With San Francisco Contemporary Music Players: Ancient Voices of Children (George Crumb) with Dawn Upshaw and Gilbert Kalish; The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (David Jaffe), Tellur for Guitar Solo (Tristan Murail) and many other concerts since 1981.

Other performance credits include Utah Symphony, Composers Inc., San Francisco Ballet, Berkeley Symphony, San Jose Symphony, and Los Angeles Opera Orchestra.

Recording credits include Segoviana (Milhaud) on Music From Mills and Music for Guitar and Tape (Cort Lippe) on The Composer in the Computer Age II on Centaur Records.

Shows: Fiddler on the Roof (two runs) with Theodore Bikel, Les Miserables (substitute guitarist) at Curran Theater, West Side Story, Frida, The Dead, Threepenny Opera, The Seven Deadly Sins.

1987 - present
Mandolist, Guitarist and Arranger for The Modern Mandolin Quartet, with concert tours in United States, Canada and Europe and 4 recordings for Windham Hill Records.
